Baptism is a significant step of faith in the life of a Christian believer, symbolizing a public declaration of their commitment to Christ. It represents the believer’s identification with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, signifying the washing away of sin and the beginning of a new life in Him (Romans 6:3-4). Baptism is an act of obedience to Christ’s command (Matthew 28:19) and a testimony of faith to the world, strengthening the believer’s relationship with God and the church community. While it does not grant salvation, it serves as an outward expression of an inward transformation through Christ’s grace.
