IMPACT with Church

Closing our Vision Series, Pastor Tyler examines how we experience Christian community—not as a nice social gathering, but as the very means through which God transforms us and reaches our city. Drawing from Ephesians 4:14-16, we're confronted with a crucial tension: the danger of 'love without truth' that keeps us stuck in shallow relationships, versus 'truth without love' that crushes people with harshness. Both extremes lead to toxic shame and isolation. The sermon uses a vivid personal story of a broken leg to illustrate how genuine love sometimes requires temporary pain for long-term healing—just as resetting a bone hurts but prevents permanent damage. We're called to be a church that embodies both high invitation and high challenge, like Jesus who invited Matthew the tax collector to follow Him while also calling him to leave everything behind. The central insight is profound: we are hurt in community, but the only path to healing is through community. When we remain isolated or make our feelings the center of everything, we rob both ourselves and our city of the transformative witness that comes from a healthy body of Christ. This isn't just about our personal growth—it's about becoming a visible gospel that compels our neighbors, coworkers, and friends to want what we have in Jesus.
